Hasan's lineage rather than after his death it going to his younger =
brother Hussein and his descendants?
Husayn was uncomproming and held is thus in higher esteem. The successi=
on goes to Husayn then his descendants has its logic.
And why did it end with only 12 Imams and did not continue on until t=
he present day?
Is there something in Islamic inheritance law that says a brother should=
take precedence over a son?
Frankly I don't know. What is certain is that Islamic law does not tell us =
anything about political succession and that strict primogeniture has not b=
